Walker Cowen Memorial Prize in Eighteenth-Century Studies
Deadline extended to 16 December 2013!
The University of Virginia Press invites submissions for the Walker Cowen Memorial Prize in Eighteenth-Century Studies ($5,000 and publication). The prize is awarded annually to the author of a scholarly book-length manuscript in eighteenth-century studies, including the Americas and the Atlantic world; submissions may be in history, literature, philosophy, or the arts.

The British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies Travelling Award, with the Besterman Centre for the Enlightenment
The British Society for Eighteenth Century Studies/Besterman Centre for the Enlightenment Travelling Award is open to any postgraduate enrolled in a higher education institution in the United Kingdom for research in France on any subject.
Nominations open: 1 September in any year. Deadline: 17 January in any year.
The award of £500 is made annually.

Grants for Research in Eighteenth-Century French Studies
The Owen Taylor Research Fund, established in memory of Professor Owen Taylor (1912-1983), Professor of French in the University of London (Queen Mary College), awards grants to research students and lecturers to enable them to travel to foreign libraries and archives and to acquire any necessary research materials (other than books). Up to £500 will be available for grants this year.
To qualify, you must be a registered research student or lecturer at a British university and have held your present post for not more than ten years.
