SVEC is dedicated to eighteenth-century research.
Since its inception in 1955 by Theodore Besterman as 'Studies on Voltaire and the Eighteenth Century', SVEC has published over 500 volumes of work on all aspects of the eighteenth century:
• History • History of ideas/Philosophy • History of the book • Theatre • Literature • Visual arts & Music • Science & Economics • Women's studies
SVEC publishes scholarly work in either English or French, and has a worldwide readership. We welcome the submission of proposals for both monographs and edited themed volumes, with recent volumes including:
• Peripheries of the Enlightenment, Ed. Butterwick, Davies and Sánchez Espinosa
• Wife-abuse in eighteenth-century France, Mary Trouille
• L'Afrique du siècle des Lumières: savoirs et représentations, Ed. Gallouët, Diop, Bocquillon et Lahouati
