Dr Damiano Bardelli

Damiano Bardelli is a Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) Visiting Fellow at the Voltaire Foundation. His research focuses on the intellectual history of the Enlightenment, with particular emphasis on the exchanges between Switzerland and the rest of Europe. His current work examines late eighteenth-century reform projects addressing poverty, with special attention to essay contests organized by French and Swiss learned societies. He has previously held teaching positions at the Universities of Lausanne and Fribourg and research positions at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) in Paris and the University of St Andrews.
