Strategic Partnership between the Voltaire Foundation (University of Oxford) and Liverpool University Press
The Voltaire Foundation (VF) and Liverpool University Press (LUP) have agreed a strategic partnership for the publication of the long-running series Oxford University Studies in the Enlightenment.
With effect from August 2018, LUP will assume responsibility for publishing 11 new Oxford University Studies in the Enlightenment books per annum in print and digital format, and will make more than 500 backlist titles in the series available digitally for the first time via the Oxford University Studies in the Enlightenment e-Library. First published in 1955, Oxford University Studies in the Enlightenment is the foremost series focusing on Enlightenment studies.
Professor Nicholas Cronk, Director of the Voltaire Foundation, commented: ‘I am immensely excited by this new partnership: it will ensure for Oxford University Studies in the Enlightenment a successful and sustainable future, on paper and in digital form. LUP, with their long-standing reputation as an academic press and their track-record of quality publishing in the area of eighteenth-century studies and in the French language, make them the perfect partner for us. Working in collaboration, we are determined to ensure that the Studies remain at the forefront of Enlightenment research.’
Anthony Cond, Managing Director of Liverpool University Press added, ‘Through our strategic partnership the Press hopes to build upon and amplify the work of the Voltaire Foundation, which is unquestionably the world leader for eighteenth-century scholarship. The availability of the Oxford University Studies in the Enlightenment series in digital format will provide an essential resource for scholars in a number of fields; meanwhile the series will continue to thrive in print and will retain the high standards for which it is widely known.’
