Job opportunity: Astra Foundation Research Fellow in Textual Scholarship

We are delighted to invite applications for the Astra Foundation Research Fellow in Textual Scholarship.

We seek a Research Fellow who will work with the editorial team at the Voltaire Foundation to produce new digital editions for Voltaire Online (VO) of the two extended verse works, La Pucelle and La Henriade. There have been significant bibliographical discoveries concerning both these works over the last fifty years, and the new editions will take account of these. The Research Fellow will identify and consult print editions and manuscripts with a view to enriching the critical apparatus of the two editions, as well make use of the relevant secondary literature for the introductions and annotations. Beyond the specific work of helping to prepare these editions, this will be an important opportunity for the whole editorial team to re-assess more broadly the significance of Voltaire’s contribution to long-form verse.

The role is fixed-term for 2 years.
